Lighting Strategies for Cannabis Growers

On Demand

Published: Mar 28, 2023
Dr. Bruce Bugbee, Professor at Utah State University will present lighting strategies for cannabis cultivation

All crop plants benefit from high light, and supplemental lighting is typically required in the winter months.  But cannabis is unique as it benefits from a much higher intensity of light then nearly any other crop plant.  Changes in light quality can be used to shape cannabis plants, but the single most important factor in selecting an LED fixture is the efficacy (efficiency) of the fixture.

During this webinar we will discuss:

  • The unique lighting requirements of cannabis plants and how they differ from other crop plants.
  • Supplemental lighting in crop cultivation, especially in the winter months, and the importance of light intensity and quality in shaping cannabis plants.
  • The significance of fixture efficacy (efficiency) when selecting LED lighting for cannabis cultivation.
