Analysis of Cannabinoids in Plant Materials and Biological Samples

Published: Jan 21, 2020

Liquid Chromatography (LC) is the preferred methodology for cannabinoid profiling and potency determination as it can identify and measure structurally similar cannabinoids in a single analysis.

In this presentation, we will compare a fit for purpose high performance (HPLC) method that separates 16 cannabinoids to Ultra Performance Liquid Chromatography (UPLC) for quantitation of cannabinoids in plant material and concentrates. The use of Supercritical Fluid Chromatography (SFC) techniques to completely resolve stereoisomers of Δ8 and Δ9-THC using convergence chromatography (UPC2) will be discussed.

A simple and sensitive UPLC-MS/MS method and workflow for quantitation of Δ9-THC and its primary metabolite in biological matrices will be discussed.
