Steep Hill Labs, a multi-state cannabis testing company, has announced that it will soon operate in the US state of Vermont.

The state legalized medical cannabis back in 2004 and approved adult-use sales in 2020.

According to a press announcement, Steep Hill is the first analytical lab to receive a pre-approval status from the New England state.

“We are delighted to partner with Steep Hill Vermont, a dynamic, entrepreneurial group with a comprehensive industrial, scientific, and business management background,” Steep Hill’s CEO Sameet Kanade said in a statement.

“Their group has rich experience in the cannabis industry, and we look forward to working with them to bring robust safety compliance testing to Vermont's medical patients and adult consumers.”

The expansion into Vermont marks the tenth US state Steep Hill Labs will operate in; the company already has sites in Arizona, California, Illinois, Massachusetts, Michigan, Mississippi, New Jersey, Oklahoma and Pennsylvania.
