Heavy elements like cadmium, mercury, arsenic, and lead are naturally present in small quantities in soils all over the world. This can be a problem when growing cannabis crops, as the plant is a highly efficient accumulator of heavy metals, so all marijuana products should ideally be tested to check if they’re carrying dangerous quantities of the metallic contaminants.
