Single-Step Purification of Individual Cannabinoids

Published: Aug 03, 2021

Purification of individual cannabinoids from a cannabis extract is often challenging as cannabis full spectrum oil is a complex mixture, composed of hundreds of different molecules and cannabinoids that share very similar structures. When performed with classical liquid chromatographic techniques, such as preparative HPLC, these separations can be both costly and time consuming due to the use of a solid support, such as silica. These techniques also have a significant environmental impact as they utilize large volumes of solvent, and silica must be recycled.

Download this app note to discover how centrifugal partition chromatography:

  • Can purify three cannabinoids at 90%-100% purity in one step
  • Has unique selectivity, allowing the purification of very similar molecules
  • Enables maximum recovery of all fractions
